Jet Lag Nighmares

We've been back from SE Asia for 3 days now. Fighting jetlag like a MOFO. Poor Dante doesn't know what to make of it. We got back Tuesday late and he went to bed on-time and then woke up at 4am protesting that he "didn't want it to be night time anymore" and wanted to play. I got up with him and we played until 7:00am and then took him to Vesulka for breakfast. It was nice to be back in NYC. the air is chill, xmas is all around, the tree vendors on 2nd avenue, the nail salon has plastic snowflakes in the window. We watched the sunrise from Vesulka's bar and they served us ham and cheese and milk. the manager was super friendly, and dante and I spun around on the barstools laughing and playing with his buses.

He was up for most of the morning - I died about 11am and Rahav took him until 3pm when I woke up. Augie nuzzled into my chest and slept quietly alongside me. Dante crashed around 4pm and woke up at 10pm and then went back down at midnight with me and then was up again at 2am. I got up with him and tried to get him to watch TV and read books alone. He really tried hard, I could hear him flipping the pages over and over. He was confused as to why it was alway "night time". In SE Asia, it got light every morning at 6am and dark every evening at 6pm. Here, back in NYC, the day/night is all screwed up and he just can't get it right. I can see the frustration on his face. I got up at 2:30am and we played cars, trains, painted, read books, ate raisin bran, listened to xmas music and danced until 7:30am when I got him (and Augie) out of the house for a walk and play in Thompkins Square Park until he took a big fall on the swing (bang, back drop) and fell asleep in the stroller. When we got back, everyone was asleep and I just could not relax and sleep myself. I went out for a massage and mani/pedi to try and relax. Got back to the apt around 1pm, Dante was still asleep! Rahav left to get his own stuff done. Dante woke about 2:30pm along with Augie. We had lunch (sausage) and went to Grand Central Station to watch the train set up. I was waning as the day drew on.

Rahav met us up there at 6pm and I promptly left with Augie, went home and passed out at 7pm. Woke up at 5am. Rahav said Friday night was brutal too - Dante woke at 4am and went down again at 2pm, woke at 8pm.. Let's see how tonight goes.
